Science
Mariel Mendez
Mariel is our Science Coordinator and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and loves Mathematics. She always knew she wanted to delve into the science world. What she enjoys most about teaching is the possibility of providing students with the proper tools of knowledge, like planting a seed and then watching it grow. She enjoys reading, going on hikes and playing music. In addition, she’s a professional violin player!
Math
Fabián Jara
Fabián is our Math Coordinator and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial Engineering. He is currently working on finishing his Masters in Business Administration. He believes that the traditional educational system lacks the promotion of critical thinking, which is why he enjoys teaching students simpler ways to learn besides memorization. He enjoys being surrounded by nature, lying down on the ground watching the sky, travelling, good coffee, and a good book. He remembers a time when one of his teachers told him, “When a person asks you a question, you must decide how you wish to answer it, and if you want to answer it truthfully or not.” That is one of the teachings he finds most inspiring learned outside of school.
